University of Rochester


The University of Rochester, located in suburban Rochester, NY, offers several highly ranked graduate programs. This private institution, founded in 1850, is one of the smallest and most collegiate schools among the nation’s top research universities. The Yellow Jackets are part of the University Athletic Association and participate in the NCAA Division III. The school offers more than 200 student organizations and an active Greek life. Notable alumni include U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and visual effects artist Michael Kanfer, who won an Academy Award for his work on the film Titanic.
